Alliance Holdings GP, L.P. (AHGP) is a limited partnership formed to own and control Alliance Resource Management GP, LLC, the managing general partner of Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. (ARLP).
Alliance Resource Partners is a diversified producer and marketer of coal to major United States utilities and industrial users. ARLP's predecessor company began mining operations in 1971 and has since grown through acquisitions and internal development to become the fifth-largest coal producer in the eastern United States. Alliance Resource Partners operates mining facilities in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
